Applying DirectAdmin Version Updates
- Important: It’s best to ensure you have created either a snapshot or a full backup of the server before implementing this update.
- Logon to DirectAdmin as ‘admin’.
- From DirectAdmin Control Panel | ADMIN
- Go to <Support> | <Updates>.
- On right pane, decide and select the “Update Channel“.
- Current: latest “released” build version
- Operational note: This is often consider a reasonably safe version and is based on DirectAdmin’s internal testing to verify a safe release.
- Stable: the previous released build version (1 version older than the latest released version)
- Operational note: This is typically the safest version to use for production systems. It’s a version that usually has been released and used for awhile. It’s 1 version older than the latest released version.
- Alpha: the most current alpha “unreleased” build version, i.e., latest testable version.
- Operational note: This is a testing version that’s gone from beta to alpha status. It’s intended for testing purposes and typically never used for production usage.
- Current: latest “released” build version
- Click the <Update DirectAdmin> blue button.
- Wait until it’s entirely completed and stay active on the screen during this process.
- Operational Note: Sometimes, a server reboot or a DirectAdmin restart is desired (or required) after this type of update.
