How to Clear Browser Cache of SSL Certificates

While each browser has its own unique methods, see the below example to understand one basic procedure.

Clearing SSL Certificates from Chrome Browser Cache

  • Close all browser tabs but one.
  • From the browser menu (3 dots: upper right), tap “Settings”.
  • From “Settings”, click “Privacy and security”.
  • Choose “Delete browsing data”
    • Tap the tab “All time”.
    • Tap “Show more”.
      • Select “Cached Images & Files”, “Site Settings”.
    • Tap <Delete Data>.
  • When done, close browser, and reopen it.
  • If not cleared “enough”, repeat steps and add more remaining items for deleting data.

Other Ways to Clear Out old SSL Certificates

  • If still retaining old SSL cert, try a different browser, ensuring its browser cache has been cleared out.
  • If all browsers are retaining the old SSL certs, it might not be a browser issue. See “SSL: Remove SSL Certificates“.
